José Fernández might have been a professional baseball player, but he inspired Miami athletes across multiple sports.

Less than two weeks ago, the Miami Hurricanes honored the late MLB star with decals on their football helmets.

On Tuesday night, the Miami Heat paid tribute by holding a moment of silence and wearing warm-up shirts with the pitcher's initials and No. 16 on them before their first preseason home game at American Airlines Arena.
