Yup. They really went there.
Bowser's hiring is announced in a cheeky press release that touts his decades of experience, sans fire breath, and his in-name-only relation to the longtime thorn in Mario's side. Nice one, Nintendo.
Now Bowser doesn't look like the in-game Bowser, as seen below, but that didn't stop the jokes from flowing.
